I’ve always had a knack for communicating – taking information that people need or that’s complex or technical and sharing it in ways that can easily be absorbed. I first noticed this talent during several successful years on my high school debate team (my mom and dad still have the trophies in their attic) and went on to hone it as a broadcast reporter, editor and anchor.
After many years “behind the mic,” I discovered that my talents lent themselves naturally to the world of public relations – helping companies and nonprofits connect with target audiences to share information and gather feedback.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure to work with a broad mix of organizations, including large brands like JELD-WEN, Avangrid Renewables, The Portland Clinic, Microsoft and Alcatel-Lucent, emerging start-ups like Echosec, Touchjet, MAZZO Mobile and Eena Kadeena and community-focused nonprofits like SMART, Oregon Dog Rescue and WVDO.
Today, I bring my skill to a variety of clients as an APR-accredited, award-winning Public Relations consultant and communications coach.
My passion is helping people tell their story. It’s what drew me to journalism to start my career, it’s what drove me to move into communications and it’s what fuels me every day to go the extra mile for every client I represent.
I’m Colby Reade, and I can help with that.
